   I live in New England and use an old Thule angled ski roof carrier to transport my skis to the mountain & back. I finally got tired of my gear being exposed to salt/dirt/slush while on the road and was looking for a way to protect it. The 175cm Dakine ski sleeve I purchased here on Amazon will definitely do the trick.1. Sizing. The fit is very good. Lengthwise, the unit is a true 175cm long with a full-length zipper. I have 171cm men’s “shaped” Atomics and the 175cm sleeve is perfect, with just a few cm extra on either end. I was thinking of getting the 190cm sleeve to be sure on the fit but that would have been WAY too long, leaving extra material to flap around in the wind. I’m happy with my choice.In addition, while I strap my skis together when using the angled ski carrier, there is enough room widthwise inside the sleeve to lay a pair of skis side-by-side. Thus, if you use something like a Thule SnowPack rack you’ll still be able to use this sleeve in that carrier.2. Quality. Quality is excellent. Good, heavy Cordura-type material should stand up to sharp ski edges and the interior seems to have a waterproof coating to keep things dry. The heavy-duty nylon zipper will be easy to grip in the cold and should last for many years. Finally, there is a shoulder-strap and small handle, neither of which I tend to use, but they both seem durable and solid.3. Value. I got my 175cm model for $30 (12/2024) which, to my mind, makes it an excellent value from a well known outdoor/sporting goods manufacturer.4. Just one last note: this Dakine “sleeve” is just that – essentially a zip-up sock that covers the skis, but offers no extra protection from bumps or drops. There is no padding whatsoever, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this product will not fit the bill. However, for simple transport to-and-from the mountain, it’s perfect.In conclusion, I am very pleased with the fit, quality, value & design of the Dakine ski sleeve and would definitely buy it again.
