For the past 16 months my wife and I have been playing with beginner paddles. Thye seemed okay as we didn’t know any better. Recently we have been trying out the mid grade of paddles and this one is definitely one of the better ones we have used. The paddle is light with a very good grip and the edge protection is appreciated as we often play outside on concrete courts. It’s so easy to catch the court on a low ball and it’s nice to know it’s not going to damage the paddle’s edge. The plastic edge protection sees to that. The quality is about what I would expect for this price point. The textured surface allows you to get a good amount of spin but the manufacturer could have tried to keep the textured surface of the paddle complete by using some different type of logo in the center of the paddle on each side. The zippered neoprene cover is a nice touch and should keep the paddle safe when not being used.

My husband and I love these paddles! We wouldn’t call ourselves pros—more like enthusiastic hobbyists—but the PaddleCraft Genesis is a clear step up from the beginner paddles we started with. The spin and control are noticeably better, and the paddle feels lightweight and balanced, making long games more comfortable. The quality is great, and we’ve had no issues with durability so far. The design looks sharp too, which is a bonus. If you’re a recreational player looking to elevate your game, this paddle is definitely worth it.

This paddle feels lightweight, and balanced and has a grippy surface good for giving the ball a good spin. What I do not understand is why the paddle surface needs so much paint. It ruins the tacky surface and creates unpredictable ball movements (other brands can be even worse). On top of that, they even advertise that the paint will be long-lasting. Why advertise that it has a high-tech carbon fiber, Kevlar surface and then hide it behind a thick layer of long-lasting paint?
