These shoes are great for beginners. I had a talk with a friend who said not to waste money on the plastic bear paw type of shoes and go for these. My kids strapped the shoes on and were able to easily maneuver in the shoes without tripping. The shoes come with poles, a carrying case, and attachments for mud/snow for the hiking poles. Glad I went for it and purchased these. I feel like they will last awhile….both kids have growing room in the boot straps. Highly recommend purchasing these!
