So, after much searching for ice skates both online and in store, I decided that for the comfort and fit and price these were the ones I would order. Now based on a previous review I went with a size smaller than my daughters actual shoe size. It was a spot on fit! The comfort of having the foam, fur tops around the ankle was a delightful bonus. The velcro strap along the top does help with cinching the shoe but also keeps the laces from un-tying. My daughter is 12 and skates at least once every week during the winter. We have found these to be great skates with the right amount of stiffness and yet flexible enough to allow her to learn to skate backwards and other cool tricks without digging into her calves.

These are larger then regular figure skates and the boot looks more like a hokey style boot. My teen loved them and has no problem using them to skate (beginer) — But if you are looking for a traditional skate for figure skating lessons, this is not the boot for you. It is very padded and very warm– It is true to size– and my daughter said “it looks very cool”, but the coach called them ‘different’ so perhaps they may not be the first choice from that perspective.
