I am so glad I bought this. It works great for tightening my ice skate laces. A fellow skater let me borrow his hook, but it was one of those all metal hooks (that cost less), and even though it worked, it hurt my hand. I’ve had my skates for 10 months, and as I’ve advanced with my skating skills, and my skates are more “broken in”, I need to continue to get the skates tighter so that I have stability for my foot and ankle. Pulling on the laces with my own strength has stopped working, and this hook definitely gets them tighter. The plastic handle is very comfortable and easy to use. I saw another reviewer say that they had issues with it slipping off the lace, but I do not experience this issue. For me, this works perfectly.

I’m an old fat guy with bad knees and this thing makes my like so much better… Not on skates but just my regular shoes… Most people will get to the point of needing a bit longer reach to tie your shoes and this is the thing..
