I am a longtime pickleball coach and 5.0+ player, so I have seen many paddles come and go over the last 4 years. I strongly believe that the quality of the construction of this paddle along with the price point makes it a no-brainer for anyone, whether they are a novice getting into the sport for the first time or an aspiring pro looking to get a paddle and several back ups for the price of one. When hitting drives with this paddle, I was able to create a good amount of shape and power without feeling like I was muscling the ball over, or using too much wrist to generate spin. On resets in the transition zone, I felt comfortable with resets pretty instantly without needing much time to dial the touch in.While it may not be as poppy as a lot of newer foam paddles are, I think with good technique this paddle will outperform many of the newer generation of paddles, based mostly on performance consistency. The pricing is just an amazing cherry on top.I feel this is an all court, leaning power paddle. The power is definitely there when you need it, especially with proper technique.I’ve been playing with the Spartus Olympus for the last 9 months, but I am eager to give this series a serious try as my primary paddle.

I’ve owned this paddle for 3 months and waited to see how it played before writing a review. This paddle is definitely built for control. I find it precise in its direction, although unlike other reviewer spin isn’t that obvious. I find the paddle performs ok for power. The ball doesn’t rocket off the paddle face like I hoped and the sound is fairly quiet as I wanted more pop. Overall, this is a beginner/advanced beginner paddle for those looking to bring more control to their shots with a sacrifice in power and ball speed.

A great paddle with high performance and very reasonable price.

I have been a long time fan of Spartus paddles and the Orion is by far my favorite. The Orion is more of a control/all court paddle versus the more expensive Olympus which is more of a power paddle. At $80, every player should have an Apex series paddle in their bag. I plan on having a couple more as this paddle is now my gamer.

I’ve played with the Odyssey for a few times now and it feels solid. Nice control hybrid paddle. Good sounding pop. Sweet spot feels large too. The minimalist design also makes it look sleek and understated, which I like. I wish though that the grip length is a little bit longer. Overall, this paddle is an easy reco for its price and quality. I’ve found my main paddle!

Nice weight and balance, very high quality. Decent power and puts a TON of spin on the ball. Really loving this paddle so far!
